The World Wide Web (www) was not founded by a single individual but rather was created through the collaborative efforts of multiple people. The concept of the World Wide Web was proposed by Sir Tim Berners-Lee, a British computer scientist, in 1989. He was working at CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research) at the time. Berners-Lee developed the first web browser and editor, called World Wide Web (later renamed Nexus), and he wrote the first web server software.
In 1990, he wrote the first web page, and the first website, which provided information about the World Wide Web project. The website outlined the basic principles of the web and explained how to create web pages. Tim Berners-Lee’s contributions laid the foundation for the development of the World Wide Web as we know it today.
While Berners-Lee played a pivotal role in the creation of the World Wide Web, it’s important to note that the web’s development involved the collaborative efforts of many individuals, and it has since become a global platform that continues to evolve with contributions from people around the world.
